Good afternoon all,
I'm having a couple issues that I can't quite diagnose or figure out how to address... I recently made a couple PC performance updates and I'm trying to figure out if I got it all right.
Problem description: During gameplay with high player-count in local area, I get a bit of stuttering and frame-rate drop in VR. This also causes some lag in visual as well as my ability to employ weapons effectively/accurately. Additionally, when I activate VOX and then release the key (currently mapped to a joystick button) I get a noticeable pause/freeze for about .25 to .5 seconds. Another weird issue is that sometimes when I turn/bank rapidly the wings appear to blur a bit, and it's not as crisp as I would expect. Again I know VR is a complex thing, but this is a routine issue that bugs me...
PC setup:
Intel Core i5-6600K (6MB cache, up to 3.90GHz)
32GB DDR3600 RAM
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2 (8GB video ram)
600W power supply
SanDisk 120MB SSD Plus (runs Windows 10)
Samsung EVO 860 Nand SSD (Steam Installation located here, where AH III runs)
Oculus Quest (application on SanDisk drive with OS)
My questions on above: could the location of my OS, my Oculus, and Steam software be causing mismatch between the programs? I don't understand how game running and caching works, so please correct me if it's incorrect.
All hardware is running as base setup, I'm sure it's not optimized for overclocking. Would a little overclocking help?
When I do not run VR, the frame rate in AH III shows like 250+ in tower and regularly in the 50-70 fps range while flying. In VR it's typically an acceptable 35-45, but I'll be it could be higher.
Really trying to get my system set up optimally, advice welcome!
