I still have a couple thousand 9mm from Y2K ~ and .308 and 5.56 and 30m1 carbine and 22lr out the bunghole.   I should hit the range again~

That 22lr must be painful, hence I would be glad to help by taking it of your hands.

When I went to pick up the handgun yesterday, the store just happened to have some 9mm in stock at $17 for 50 round box. Limit of 2 though but I got what I could. The actually had quite a bit of assortment of 38, 44, 45, and rifle ammo in stock for good prices. Bought from another store 3 boxes of .22lr for $8/box of 100.

If anyone travels downstate in IL and MO, check out Rural King and Buchheits stores. You may find what you cant get at the big stores.

Bought a S&W model 915

Purchased some Pachmayr Grippers and shot them for the first time yesterday.  I had previously tried some panel grips, they also sucked.

It is now fun to shoot the model 19. Now to get the grouping down to dime size at 5 yards.

I am a huge fan of Pachmeyer grips. On my old competition revolver (S&W 28) I used a set of finger groove grips that were similar in profile to the Hogue composite grips I had on my old duty revolver. The 28 came with a square butt and the smaller grips as opposed to the huge double axe handle that are so common on them. I always hated those big grips and never understood why they were so popular. On my round but frame revolvers I like the old design presentation grips. No finger groves, just smooth profile somewhat like the broomhandle Mauser. To me they are super comfortable.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
