This desert camouflaged MC.202 was flown by the Regia Aeronautica's 73rd Squadron during 1942. At the start of the war in 1940 this squadron was equipped with CR.42 biplanes but were upgraded to the MC.200 at the end of that year, the MC.202 in late 1941 and the MC.205 in 1943. They generally alternated between bases in Italy and Sicily but with several postings to North Africa, including a six month stint in the second half of 1942.
