Bombs for the 109F
« on: May 02, 2021, 03:21:36 PM »
Bf 109F's were used in the jabo role historically, even in dedicated squadrons. It's an easy bit to add since the bomb rack is already on the skin textures - in the exact same location as the 109G's.

An option to load gondolas to a 109f4 would be great

As they were rare they should be available with an associated perk point cost

The gondolas on the F were a field modification, so probably not eligible on those grounds. The bomb racks were standard equipment. Any F model could use one.

I think they both should be options you can add via perk points

Same goes for most plane mods, they should be perk point purchases from a standard basic armament option in the hangar

Did the 109f every have 13mm instead of the 7.9mm machine guns?

Just one special prototype that Adolf Galland flew. He nearly shot off his own prop because they were not synchronized properly.

The G-5/G-6 were the first production 109's to have the 13mm cowl guns.

I didn't think the F model had bomb carrying capability from the factory? If it didn't, that means it was a field mod and HTC frowns upon that.

However... I do think there is a niche that HTC is missing regarding the 109: the early G variants had shackles for the 4/50kg bombs under center line. So did the 190F-8, but that is another thread.  ;)

The mounts were there from the factory starting with the E-7. The bomb racks were different, depending on the bomb, but they mount to the planes the same way.
