That Old Thing
« on: October 17, 2021, 04:47:34 AM »
I had previously skinned this aircraft on the old F4F-4 shape in 2004 and as its a nice scheme I've redone it for the current one.

This Wildcat Mk V (FM-1) of 846 Sqn FAA operated from the escort carriers HMS Trumpeter and HMS Tracker in June 1944 while covering the D Day landing against U Boat attack. As such it had full D Day stripes painted on. It was named "That Old Thing", possibly referring to some disparaging remark from a pilot of a more modern ride.

Excellent work! Very nice!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
