Ball of Fire
« on: December 16, 2021, 03:45:14 AM »
Thanks to Lyric1 for helping with the research for this skin, which is intended for next month's FSO set in Tunisia in May 1943. It won't be uploaded to the MA as the scheme is not historically accurate for an A-20G.

"Ball of Fire" was one of a number of gun nose field conversions of A-20Cs created by the 47th Bomb Group in 1943. As we don't have the option of a gun nose on our Boston I've skinned it on the A-20G instead.

Exquisite.  Your dirt and grime effects are amazing.

As a crew member I would have reservations though, about flying with a pilot who names his aircraft "Ball of Fire".

A good friend of mine's late father flew an A-20G in the Pacific with the 20th BS also called Ball of Fire. I built a model of it back in the 90s for him as a gift on his retirement. Was literally the last model I've built. A Koster vacuform kit that was both hyper detailed and a gigantic PITA to put together. It really came out nice tho. Keep thinking I'll get back to that hobby some day.
