30th GTB T-34
« on: March 23, 2022, 05:47:17 AM »
Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin.

This T-34/1943 tank number 107 was operated by the 30th Guards Tank Brigade on the Leningrad Front in 1943. Like all 30th tanks at this time it had red stars and Red Banner emblems painted on the turret. This particular tank had unpainted wheel hubs, a green and red/brown camouflage scheme and carried the name of Sergei Kirov, a prominent Communist Party official who was assassinated in 1934, an event that sparked Stalin's first great purge.

The 30th GTB began the war with T-70 light tanks upgrading to T-34s in 1943 and then KV heavy tanks in 1944. They fought in the northern sectors of the Eastern Front; Leningrad, the Baltic coast and then East Prussia.
