Gpu deal
« on: April 30, 2022, 07:47:21 PM »
I have started slowly gathering parts for a build. I do need to keep the budget fairly low, even decided to utilize Offerup. I happened upon a Nvidia 580 with 2 gig of memory for $30. I am picking it up tomorrow since it is way better than what I am using currently using. My question is how good of a deal is it and how well should it handle AHIII? I will likely upgrade it later when finances permit.

The GTX 580 should run AH3 at 1080p with graphics details turned down.

It came with either 1.5GB or 3GB of DDR5 memory.

I didn't see a NVidia driver for windows 11 so for that you'd have to use the windows 11 driver windows would automatically install.

For windows 10 you'd want to use the DX9 version of AH3. For windows 11 you could use DX11 version. DX11 has a stutter problem in windows 10.

Here's some links for reference.
