I have a group of friends I hang out with on Discord. We often stream, on Discord, the games we are playing. So, it's like a shared video call on Discord, not a public stream to Twitch or anything like that.
I've noticed that it's not easy to stream Aces High III. Normally, you can tell Discord to stream any game (or application) by using its "Go Live" (
https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040816151-Go-Live-and-Screen-Share) feature and selecting the application. It works fine, for example, when I stream my web browser to show them a YouTube video, and they can see the video and hear the sound just fine. However, when I try to do this with Aces High III running in full screen mode (the default and only option, I think?), they can only see the video; they get no sound. When playing in VR, there isn't even an "Aces High III" application available to select in Discord's "Go Live" menu, so screen sharing is the only option, I guess.
When screen sharing (instead of streaming both sound and video with the "Go Live" feature of Discord), to correctly stream both video and sound I have to jump over some hoops. For example, one way I can do it is to stream my *screen* on Discord (not the Aces High III application - Discord allows you to stream a screen, or an app, but when you stream the screen, the sound does not come with it; it's just the video in that case). To get audio, I need to configure Discord to use Voicemeeter's "virtual out" as the "microphone" input, configure Aces High III to use Voicemeeter's "virtual input" as sound output, and then I then I can configure Voicemeeter to send both my mic and and the game's sound to the "virtual out" sound device. This works, but it's tedious and not great. Normally Discord lets viewers adjust the volume of my voice separately from the volume of the stream, but if I do it this way, they can't do that, since everything comes through as if it were "my voice".
Is there anything I can do to convince Discord to stream Aces High III using its Go Live feature so that I can stream both video and sound without jumping through hoops? I'm open to alternative solutions; I just don't like having to jump through so many hoops just to stream. It's nice to be able to do it in one click for virtually every other application out there. It would be nice if it were not so difficult to share the game with my friends, and who knows, maybe then they would consider playing, too.
