Rocket Man cover I did a few years ago
« on: May 21, 2022, 09:40:02 PM »
I got the lyrics messed up, but it's still okay.

I played the main guitar and sang on one track, then added a couple other tracks for the rest. I didn't put a whole lot of thought into any of it but I think it turned out okay.

I saw this yesterday but got busy.  Oops.  Great cover of a classic.  From 1990-1998 I played rhythm and lead for a cover band.  After I left the group, the manager of a local watering hole invited me to do two acoustic sets one evening.  I figured it would be fun, and it was.

However, on the first tune I realized that, if you have six other musicians on the stage and you hit a sour note, nobody notices. If you're playing solo and you hit a sour note, nobody misses it.  Also, it's a lot easier to cheat and electric guitar and damn near impossible to cheat an accoustic.

As I said, great cover.
