234 Squadron Spitfire Mk I

Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin.

On August 15th 1940, in a mid-channel dogfight with the Messerschmitt 109Es of JG53, Pilot Officer Richard Hardy's Spitfire was hit by fire from Oblt. Georg Kraus and he was forced to make an emergency landing. Unfortunately he landed in France, was captured and later entertained by JG53 pilots before being made a POW for the duration of the war. The Luftwaffe were able to repair and test fly his nearly intact Spitfire for evaluation. His Spitfire carried the name "Dirty Dick" on both sides of the fuselage and was painted in the typical RAF scheme for the period with Sky undersides, although it still lacked the under-wing roundels that had been mandated by the RAF a few days earlier.
