Question about subscription...
« on: June 29, 2000, 08:43:00 AM »
Hi there!!!

I've got one question: When u (or I) subscribe and enter my creditcard-info - will i be asked every month if i want to continue my subscription or will HTC just chrge me every month (possibly) regardless of whether i was online or not???

U know, im from Germany, and when someone from US charges me (not righteous of couse i will have A LOT of trouble getting the money back, when the "charger" isnt willing to give it back.
So u could say the for maybe 100$ is wasnt worth the trouble geting the money back.

Don't get me wrong: I DONT THINK HTC WANTS TO CHEAT ME!!! (But be honest: U're getting f§$%ked everywhere nowadays

OK, i found it nice if got some answer from all u, who have already a subscription, because im a student and i do not have too much spare money

OK, then, cu all!

You will be charged automatically every month. You can also send checks or money orders ahead of time- some people buy blocks of time (say, 3-month intervals).

Yes, giving credit card info to foreign companies can be risky, but HTC has a pretty good track record so far.

Ok, thx, for first.

OIne question left - how am i able to "suspend" my account. E.g. if i dont wanna fly for a month or two, because i dont have the time - will i have to close my account or will i be able just to set some flag not to be charged until i start flying again?

And (think it will be this way) when i close my account, will i be able to open another with a different account-name, but the same "handle" (only if someone other didnt use it meanwhile   )

I haven't done this yet, but here is the conventional wisdom on that one...

You can reduce your account to a head-to-head account, which is nonpaying. This would preserve your handle, and costs you nothing.

If you drop altogether I would not be certain that you can reuse your name if you give them different registration info.

Ahh ... but how do you reduce your account to H2H? Would you just remove your credit card number? I think this is the question alot of people are trying to ask.

Sorry, Exile. I haven't added because I don't know. I haven't been through the process before...
