Really love the drum work by Daniel Liljekvist on this one. The whole album is great for drums really. Don't let the art work scare ya ;)  :rock

I think some of the most influential in the last 35 years have been:

  • Jojo Mayer
  • Bernard Purdie
  • Stewart Copeland
  • Simon Phillips
  • Manu Katché
  • John Bonham
  • Ringo Starr

There are so many more!

That is an amazing transition when they were changing places at the drums. That other drummer kept the kick drum going while Steve started on the snare. That's pretty great!

How talented is Stevie Wonder? My gosh. He's got a toejam load of talent

No Mitch Mitchell...?  Formerly of the who,  joined Jimi Hendrix

Phil Collins of Genesis  (2 other Genesis drummers I can't recall their names)

9th grade visiting Washington DC for a week....these long hair dudes were passing out flyers that read "you really need to try RUSH"  ...found out what that meant real quick...next door neighbor was year older than I,  had already graduated to double 26" bass drums he was in 10th grade...in senior high... junior high was 7th through 9th... he played Tom Sawyer with a added 3 minute solo in the middle just him and his drums (all 14 + cymbals)  in the talent show the next year and got 2nd place

Anyway lots that were really unique and great will never make this thread...

Peter Chris of KISS

Amazed that no one has mentioned Billy Cobham.

The best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live on a couple of times.
