99 Squadron RAF Liberator
« on: January 09, 2023, 04:43:41 AM »
Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin.

Liberator bombers were flown by 99 Squadron RAF from Dhubalia in eastern India from September 1944 until the end of the war. From here they could reach targets in Japanese-held Thailand and Malaya, unlike the Vickers Wellingtons they had operated previously. This example had the lower surfaces painted black for night operations and the rubber leading edge de-icing strips removed as these were not needed in the SEAC theatre. Oddly though the areas below the strips were left unpainted.

Well, I'm glad they left the de-icing strip parts unpainted, or you wouldn't have as awesome as a skin as you have made here.  :D

Nice work and a tad unusual to boot.
