I have lived in every state except Alaska and Hawaii. Lived in Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela. I much prefer Texas.

I had 2 inches of water in my home. First time it had ever flooded in the 30 years I have owned it. Weather is dealt with as it comes. That was back in about 2018. Up north it snows.... I would hate that.  In the bread basket tornadoes are more regular. Today it was 70 degrees.
