Vraciu's Updated Adopted Doras

[Vraciu]

These are still to be considered restorations as I have not gone back and fully redrawn them.  I'm going to be slowly converting them to my own artwork over time, but I am hoping to at least make them look a little less cartoonish (no offense to the original artists, it's just the way AH3 makes them look) for those that might want to use them.  Devil is working with me on the accuracy issues and I thank him for that.

They look great, Vraciu!  I’m partial to the IL-2 segmented diamond in place of the tail swastika.  Nice to some kind of tail symbol.

I feel the opposite way about it. Having a substitute symbol only draws attention to the fact that there's no swastika there. Better to have nothing.

Thanks guys. 

A lot of warbirds use the diamond.   In the stress of a dogfight your mind will fill in the blanks.   I want to try it out for awhile and see what people think.   With some creative mottling it might be less obvious.

I also did a bit of desaturation to tone down the cartoon colors,  fixed some aileron and elevator gap errors, did a redraw of all the wing rivets/panel lines to make them more subtle, and borrowed from Devil's version to redo the exhaust stacks.

Totally get what you’re saying Devil, but for me, it’s the blank tail that draws my attention to the fact that something is missing.   The segmented diamond made it less noticeable somehow.

One time, I tried a segmented diamond with a dot on the middle, and my eyes actually filled in the swastika.  It was eery.  Way too close to the original.
