This is Lt. E.B. Kisbey's P-38L-5-LO, "Louise" / "Helen" (S/N 44-25234) of the 35th FS, 8th FG on Mindoro, 1944.   No other information on this airplane or its pilot was found.

I want to thank Lyric1 for finding some outstanding images of this airplane.  His research was invaluable.

I think that my only P-38 combat pilot friend from the Pacific was Ken Lloyd, and Ken passed about 15-18 years ago. He was sharp right up to the end in hospice. He was a great source of information.

Edit In: I just realized I posted some images without the W on the cowling.  Woops!!!!   Those are just too show the metal I guess.  The W is supposed to be there.  Wish I could edit the posts and take the wrong ones out.   Oh well.

I have to correct a couple of errors then I'll submit it.

I made an error on the placement of the W on the vertical fin.  It goes on the stab not the rudder.   I've fixed that.

So here is the final version.
