I was goofing off in the hangar and took this one.   The metal looks so much better INSIDE the hangar than it does flying around.   Why is that?

I'm still working on the sand grime on the underside, so it isn't ready just yet.

Took the stripes out of the picture. 





Removed the weapons dolly. 




While I'm here I'm going to experiment with resizing.

Looks good Vraciu. I guess its the contrast of light and shadow that makes it look better in the hangar.

That metal looks great - especially the top of the engine and the main gear door. 

In addition to Greebo's comment, I think the overall light level in the hangar is lower than outside in the sunlight - even the drop tanks look good, and their texture is so light usually they washout in sunlight.

Good points.   I guess the hangar windows are softening the light to varying degrees. The washout effect has always been a struggle for us.

In this lighting you can see some of the variations in metal tone that the sun overpowers in flight.

Not meant to diminish your achievement with the bare metal - I think you've reached a new level with it.  Just looks fantastic.

I have a very mid-grade card, GTX 960. But I crank up the graphics for taking screenshots in the film viewer.

I'll take a look.

In my case, a bigger monitor is a major factor in making screenshots look better.   It allows me to get the same angle but with much more detail than before.
