I am all for purple thumbs if it brings honesty back into our voting process

But they will never go there ... for obvious reasons

Imagine getting voting results in minutes instead of days it now takes...

Keep believing what they spoon feed you if it makes you feel better  :aok

I certainly find it sus that with 500 votes for the games overall, there is only 9 upvotes for the actual post.

I'd expect most people to check DCS given its vast graphic detail and overall game. That being, it's very interesting the difference in flight model of the P51 vs the one in AH. I can see that one guys comment about DCS flight model being a little wobbly with regards to WW2 planes. I'll have to check Il2 again, but when I tried it before, I could only play on half a screen. Not sure if that was me or the game, but found that annoying. I didn't particularly think the fights were any better and to me I enjoy the MA style much better than only match play style of Il2. Very tough to tell whose friendly vs Foe with only half a screen though so it was tough without icons.

It also surprises me how many noobs play WT. Don't they realize flying in External View isn't an advantage? Nah, they probably just play that one due to the fact that's its mostly FTP.

Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

Are you comparing the P-51 or the P-51T with AH?

The P51. Although I haven't really "faught" with it in DCS that much, only against easy AI, but I wasn't able to be as aggressive in the stall and aiming is a beeyotch in DCS. The nose bounce is much worse in DCS it feels. Could be I just dont have enough practice because I've been focusing on the F18

Nah, I'm a plane guy!

If you have the ED version and not Steam, you can get a two week trial on modules.  You should give the Huey a trial.  If you don't find that thing a blast to fly, then you are just broken. ;)

The F-18 is great fun. Add a curve to your stick axis to help with the bounce.

Agreed, you need to mess with your stick settings - after a bunch of experimentation I can point the pipper in the HUD on DCS aircraft as accurately as I can here.

Also, there should be a category for "best game", not just best FM/damage/etc IMO.  AH should win that category IMO.  If you could combine AH's MA game with the DCS graphics/modelling/etc/etc, I don't think I would leave me desk, especially if it could handle hundreds of players like Dale's creation.

How do they model the throttle and collective?

Depends on your hardware.

If you have the whole setup it supports it.  I think Virple and others make high end systems.  Full size collectives and cyclic sticks.  If you have the money. If it detects lesser sticks it will auto set throttle as other than some startup stuff it's where you have it 99.96% of the time.  But you have a axis and key binding for throttle if you have one.

[edit]  This is what you need...;)
