This M3 75mm GMC was operated by the British Army's 1st Kings Dragoon Guards in Italy during 1944. It had its original Olive Drab overpainted with a scheme of British dark green and light brown to better blend in with the local terrain. During the Second World War this unit served in the North African Campaign between 1941–43 including at Tobruk and El Alamein. As part of the force that landed at Salerno in 1943 they were the first Allied unit into Naples and continued fighting in Italy until the end of the war.
