The thing I don't get is how some of these guys don't lose their skills over time.

I was at my best in AW days and have gone down hill as I've gotten older. My gunnery has completely gone to crap and my timing is off too.

Only thing that is the same is I'm usually aggressive to the point of stupid! That worked out better when I had skills. Lolz

In all reality, if you can’t stand skyyr killing you; you need to get better with your situational awareness and to get better at defensive and offensive flying. Does it suck getting shot down? Yup. Does it suck when you are outnumbered and getting beaten over and over sometimes? Yup. I had no issue playing against skyyr and his crew. Forced me to adapt to a new play style and I had fun with it.

It’s a game people.

This right here! Thank you! I personally just think of skyrr as another player straight up, and did have a video shooting him down as my first kill of a sortie in a MK 9 Spitfire when he stalled himself out. LA-7 has always been about low alt speed and maneuvering plus the very close range guns. 190D-9 is always about speed and it's energy retention. Play your aircraft of choice against their weakness. LA-7 has horrible compression at over 460. Keep the speed up and he will have a hard time keeping the nose down, if he reaches the breaking point and if he pulls, there goes his wings. I make mistakes time to time, but try to learn from the mistakes and always play the replay to see what was done wrong. Just my .02 into this.

38 is a magical plane or at least the elevator is as I recall. I recall many times shooting the elevator off of a 38 and it continued to fight as if it wasn't damaged.

I hear ya. I remember switching to the d9 at times to run down the pickin ponies. I found it interesting how unskilled most of the running ponies were once you caught them. Seems they would be better off fighting and getting better then to just rely on running. Seems boring to me.

If there were many targets to be had I'd always go for the highest pony cause I knew he'd try to pick me as soon as I engaged another plane.

They part about the ENY is true too. It always amazed me how much people were dependent on low ENY planes to "have fun" I used to do pretty well in the mossie, g14, la5 and f4u1 and all those are 25-30 eny planes.

Personally I think that ENY should be dynamic as to get more hanger queens in the air.

If there are 20 ponies in the air then the eny on it should go down and down as more and more take to the air.

If you dust off of F4F or a P40 or something that isn't flown much and are the only one in the air I think you it should be 40 ENY for example and maybe get a multiplier like the side switchers.

Speaking of side switchers. It doesn't seem to help much when 2 countries gang one but I guess that's what happens when you have 3 countries.

If you shoot one ele off a 38, it can still turn, but it can't turn hard. You need to clear the fight at that point.

I think everyone should just fly La7s, 190Ds, yak3s, and Spit16s. Who needs any other planes?

Can a tiger out run a pony?
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

...er...I do!

Those fast planes scare me, things go by so quickly, or doing turns in them makes my stomach upset.

Plus I'm a lot older than the people who fly them, so we don't have much to talk about.*

LA-7 has horrible compression at over 460. Keep the speed up and he will have a hard time keeping the nose down, if he reaches the breaking point and if he pulls, there goes his wings.

So when we're below him, in slower planes, we should simply accelerate to 460 and pull 9G and he'll simply break his wings off. It's a good job this strategy isn't mentioned in Shaw otherwise Skyyr might find out about it and refer to the "How to avoid pulling your own wings off" section in the appendix. Genius

I was hoping he would have made an appearance in MNM but I don't think he'd be that superior there given the setup
