I put together the original AH B-17g 3view modeling plans for Natedog all those years ago when he found that no good plans existed. It was a collage of an original Boeing b17f simple line drawing, a fantastic directly down top view photo and several other long range high definition photographs all put together and synthesized into the plans that he built the 3d wireframe over.

The part that still makes me smile is the cockpit canopy. Look how the real windshield is lower than the side windows on most b17s. A nuance missed by all those professional artists…

But the ah b17g nails it and in spite of its lower poly count the unique lines of the b17g are captured so exquisitely and so much better than any other game.

The magnificent skins like this one deserve nothing less.

Thank you for the kind words, Citabria.   You and Natedog did a great job on the B-17G model.  It has really held up well over the years.   

Still has to be one of the most beautiful and recognizable shapes in all of WWII aviation history.
