Aye. The 38 or planes flying with the invasion stripes are they only way I can quick ID. The Russina planes are the hardest for me as my VR is not very clear and I have to get close enough to see a marking just to make sure.

I've noticed some guys will flash their nav lights if their friendly and it looks like you are about to try to shoot them. Others will wag their wings. I on the other hand will treat them like the threat they are with defensive maneuvers!

The craziest is the furballs when everybody is shooting. The other thing is that the engine gives you no warning before it quits. (or if there is a warning in the sound it's not obvious)

From what I've read from LW pilots is that the 109 engine would run if you overheated it, it would just run poorly and would piss off the ground crew because it would be obvious to them that you had overheated it and would require them to do a bunch of work to get it running properly.

I was watching a video restoring a 109 (g2 I think).  In it was said, lack of airflow over the underwing radiators while on the ground the engine will overheat fairly quick. It needed to be airborne in about 10 or so minutes to prevent damage.

That's in my startup sequence.
Press: E
Press: right alt c
Press: left alt keyboard minus to 50%

I must say it's interesting to see all the steps to start those engines.
Magnetos, manually pump fuel, turn on gunsight, generator, etc, etc.
