As my name might indicate this was my 5th Metallica show and my now current 14 year old daughter’s first concert ever! As we drove to Highmark stadium I played her a few songs I was hoping to hear. To my luck, they played a few of them, including one of my faves. Her and I had really nice seats for this show…

The pyros for this and Moth Into Flame were so big we could feel the heat in our seats mid-level bottom section. Was a great show!

Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

As far as I know, this is the only concert I was ever filmed at. It's not like you can see me in the crowd but my buddy and I are stage center on the left edge of the video frame with all those crazy drunk Germans. Ozzy came on about fourth in the show. Before him was Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy and Michael Schenker. Scorpions finished the show after Ozzy. Rock on!

The Eagles was our best...Hotel California is the wife and I song..

Billy Joel was pretty good a couple of years ago

The Moody Blues has the record of most seen - 4 or 5 times in concert

Concert prices are criminal these days...glad we are past them..between the cost and the crowds these days, I'll buy a DVD and watch it in the living room

Wow. You guys must be old.  Tickets are so expensive because, one.. YOU keep buying them, and too... It's the only real way artists make money any more.

You used to go on tour to support an album.  Now, you put out an album to advertise the tour and to give fans another t-shirt to buy.

I saw the Stones in Oakland in '89 and '94 as well. Both shows were great as Living Color and Santana opened in one and Seal in the other.

Saw Metallica in '97 and '04 in Reno, NV. Both were amazing. The 97 show was broiling hot because of their pyrotechnics and the temp outside. I remember being thoroughly disgusted at the beginning as the guy in front of us was head banging and his sweat was flying all over us. By the end of the show I was creeped out because his sweat was actually refreshing and cooling us off. Great show nonetheless......Wait.....sti ll creeped out about it.

Best show I've seen was Soundgarden up at Tahoe in 2011. It was the beginning of their comeback. Such a great show and Cornell sounded amazing.

Spent my teens and early 20s going to so many I lost track. Saw most of the big 70s names and loved every minute. Best show musically was Joe Walsh in 76. I grew up in the St. Louis area at that age. It was a hot bed of concerts and music for whatever reason. That is all our group did was hit concerts. Multiple times a week a lot of the time. $4 to $8 dollars a ticket most of the time.  :old:

Helluva list there, Shuffler. Some huge bands I'd have loved to see in the era you saw them. I'll bet Buddy Guy was scintillating.....so underrated and under appreciated.
