Yes, l meant stripes.   Darned phone.

The letters and prop are much much darker than the wing bands.   I wonder if that is how they'd look being black.     The bands look more like the nose and rudder which are red.

Did anyone ever paint these bands red?  I recall a Kid Hofer profile with a red bsnd on the vertical tail.

Yeah, all the stripes look red.

I wonder if this was a squadron hack aircraft, given how non-regulation that striping was and that the aircraft was a Bravo in 1945.
