Kalifornia
« on: February 02, 2024, 05:44:19 PM »
Two years last December I have been unable to buy Ammunition here. It all started when I got a real id.  The spelling of my first name went from Jess to Jessie all other info remained the same. On first rejection was told to wait six months for DOJ to process change. Then was told to update my info on CFARS and wait 6 months for update which I did. I reregistered my firearms with the new spelling and received message to update my info on CFARS which I did second time. Contacted my congressman and after several back an forth's he put me in touch with a congressman who was the point man for this problem. He contacted the DOJ for me and in four months no reply from DOJ! The law requiring a background check has been struck down. Going to the range they were happy to sell you ammo at twice the price! I have renewed my CCW twice while this went on.
Come to find out they had a false rejection rate over 16% and a positive rejection rate of 3% :bhead

This all started by getting a Ca Real id can be used to cross border and return in lieu of passport was supposed to be required for commercial air travel. Military and federal buildings may require the Real id
I don't think you have a CA. real   ID
5-7-2025 you can't fly commercial without one!
To get one must show passport or birth certificate.
    Social security card
Utility bill with your name on it
Once you follow those steps you are stuck with name on birth certificate.
Of course, these rules don't apply if you came into country illegally.

Besides low humidity what does California offer that is not better elsewhere?

If you're not a millionaire not sure what the draw is..

San Diego offers perfect weather. The rest of CA offers warm/hot weather. It's <geographically> the same draw as AZ with slightly cooler summers. I'm not a big fan of CA climate outside of SD. I'm not a big fan of AZ (Phoenix area) weather either. I do know many that are.

While in the free states we are still fighting socialism. Seems none of them want to move to Venezuela because everyone jas eaten their dogs and cats. They are starving. Well that is what they are pushing for so just what do they want then?

I lived in California for about 15 years.

Most people who love California climate/terrain love it for being warm and sunny most of the time, but not Phoenix hot (except for San Francisco, which isn't always warm and sunny, but has or at least had its own unique vibe); for being near the ocean; for having some beautiful terrain of mountains, coast, trees, desert; for having every type of cuisine, every type of store; some for the vibe of a particular place, like Hollywood, SF, Berkeley, Venice, Santa Cruz, etc.

Some of the appeal is the mystique of the past, when the area was less crowded and had less squalor.  The California of:

Like most places, it's better if you are wealthy.

But they are busily ruining it by increasing crime, crowding, squalor, and cost of living.

I lived 17 miles south from SF on the coast for fifty years. The redwoods were an hour away. The beach a quarter mile away. 3 hours to lake tahoe. SF back in the day was a great city. Growing up I lived at the Filmore and Winterland. My english teacher had a Victorian in the haight. We would head up to the haighht and hang out. Was in a deer club in the redwoods.

California was a GREAT place to live.

They ruined it. I couldnt take it any longer. The 1084 square foot, 3 bedroom 1 bath house I lived in is now worth 1.2 milllion...SF is a pit. A beautiful state is a pit.

Here in EU some of us are wondering, how political refugees fly for a holiday with kids, to the country they escaped from, and of course with money taken from social security services.
