Great actor.

Starred in four of my favorite movies as a kid. Although, three of these are of dubious quality as an adult.

Enemy Mine is still pretty damn good, though.

Enemy Mine was a good 80's movie but the original 60's Hell in the Pacific was unsurpassable.

I loved Iron Eagle 2 also. Even if the mission was a total rip off of the Death Star trench run.

I still do.   Watch it once a year or so. Underrated popcorn flick.  Red Dawn With Vipers.

I just rewatched Enemy Mine about a month ago.  Great actor, really nice person in the interviews I've seen with him as well.

Toy Soldiers was a diamond in the rough so far as Gossett Jr's performance - among a few of the early films to get permission to use AH64 and Blackhawks with cooperation of the military in filming.

Iron Eagle/2 - everyone who was my age when those came out must have fond memories of Louis Gossett Jr..  My first r/c trainer was christened  "Iron Eagle".  Yes, I crashed and totaled it.

Officer and a gentleman.  Nothing needs to be said.
