I do not experience these game freezes while playing other games... its very much my system reacting to something going wrong with the game. Happens on both laptops but this time a double freeze 10 minutes into logging and in flight to defend a base?

Yeah im definetly gonna "de-populate" the arena by logging 2 capable accounts willing to have a fight in a dead morning arena while a group of bish players roll undefended bases while listening to Cher's greatest hits album
 :neener:

8 seconds doesn’t sound like video. I wonder if ypur bad connection has something to do with it. Just guessing

Depends on how many accounts one is playing at a time.. 4 seconds each  :)

haha love it  im down to 1 account tomorrow. Send my laptop to a former player out in California and paying for his next 6 months. Gonna be weird playing for awhile. Great time to focus on ACM and polish my fighter skills.

To everyone who is trying to help, thank you! I am super busy at work today but i wanted to respond and say that i will answer the questions asked my way when i get the time. If i can isolate this issue down to my hardware or connection I am going to take the necessary steps to fix it up to and includding buying a new system.

Again thank you and will respond later this evening  :salute

I would check net status on the clipboard,if you see spikes just before the freeze then you need to do a ping plot to see where the packets are being lost.

Could be vidcard related, antivirus related or even updates to the OS. That said it’s easy enough the check net status and run a ping plot, you can post the plot results and one of the experts can explain it if you don’t understand yourself. Bad weather could also play into it…

Good luck.

I was afk more than i was playing but no freezes during game play this evening. My ping was 100-120. I lsarned long ago to check net status. I havent seen peaks and valleys for months.

This could potentially be my video catd but I experience game freezes on my low end specs laptop and do not experience game freezes when playing other games. I can play r2d2 and turn up the graphics. The laptop will get hot and laggy after 20-30 minutes if i do not keep it ventilated and I learned to do that long before buying this machine.

The occurance this morning was the first double freeze, back to back incident ever. With the freezes not getting better since it started, the latest occurance is a trend in the wrong direction.

If you are pushing the laptop in other games it is going to weaken the components. Its like when you break your leg, it heals but it wont ever be as strong as before. Once you start over heating electronics they just get worst and never perform the same. Your graphics card may just be getting worn out.

thats just the thing. Yes, the wear and tear over the past couple of years may have damaged the gpu. My thing is i have zero issues with other games.

I do experience a similar black screen reset when using steam! I have zero black screens at any other time.

The black screen with steam ONLY happens when steam is pulled up, not when running a game. I do not play AH on steam. I do not ever play with graphics on max nor go an extended amount of time even on medium and havent since i bought it. The laptop has never over heated and the gpu is still good.

I do suspect that there is something going on between my hardware and the game. Problem is this is the only game where i experience the black screens. I do not play AH with graphics turned up.

It is what it is. The problem has got worse yey last night zero black screens? Granted i only had 20 minutes of actusl screen time. The double screen event yesterday happened 3 minutes into my first flight.

I may not even be close. But just for giggles try flushing your DirectX Shader Cache.
If you're playing other games you should probably reboot the computer before starting AH.

Don't know which version fo Windows you have.

Flushing DirectX Shader Cache

The decision to clear the cache will depend on you. However, below are some reasons why you may want to do so.

To resolve performance issues – A cleared DirectX Shader cache may resolve some performance issues, including graphical glitches and stuttering.
Freeing up disk space – Even though the cache may not take up much space, clearing it will still free up some extra space on your computer.
To update the cache – If you have just updated your graphics card or installed new games, you may clear the DirectX Shader cache to fill it with new information.

Note: Clearing the cache is not something you must do often. It is mainly a troubleshooting step when you face some graphical issues.

This procedure will not negatively affect your system. This is because the cache is isolated storage with no permanent information.

You cannot disable or prevent the creation of the DirectX Shader Cache. Windows 11 has no official way of disabling this optimization feature.

If you use Ccleaner it provides an option to flush the DirectX Shader Cache.
Clear DirectX Shader Cache Using Disk Cleanup

1. Open Start Menu, type cleanup in the search bar, click Disk Cleanup to open it..

2. Select your C drive, then click the OK button.

3. Tick the DirectX Shader cache option and click OK.

Note: Though this is meant to flush DSC, it could be a good idea to check every listed item.

Windows 11.  I have done NOTHING. Fresh boot when flying. Nvidia card and I get the 2sec freeze around 15-20 minutes. Never get it flying alone. Seems to happen when there is fighter activity close in...

Windows 11.  I have done NOTHING. Fresh boot when flying. Nvidia card and I get the 2sec freeze around 15-20 minutes. Never get it flying alone. Seems to happen when there is fighter activity close in...

I'm stuck between 3 nvidia 3d management settings, at least one or a combo, tend to minimize the 2 sec freezes to about 250ms (1/4 sec) glitches.
Last nvidia update, about 2-3 weeks ago, they got bad again. But then I later noticed some or all my settings defaulted.

It's not a fix, it seems to be a workaround, as they still happen, just much quicker. This COULD be because I have the card set for performance, running faster. And I could be clueless, which you should consider until the answer is nailed.

Patterns seem to be the center point between Nvidia vs DirectX 11. The only connection I know of between AH (the GPU portion) and DX11 vs DX9 seems to the the option of VR.
If I were to take the VR fork in the road...

I don't recall any VR users chiming in and saying they get 2 sec freezes, nor AMD cards.

Comment patterns from the knowledgeable tend to be "something seems to be looking for something and not finding it"
It seems to be VR is enabled by default, and has to be disabled manually. (?)
HT says it's been happening since they made the version.

Tonight I'm going to test what happens if VR is disabled, and then enabled with no device, as I don't have one. Anyone else could also test this half-baked theory.

If they are gone totally when disabled, then I would next want to know if there is a device search happening if VR is enabled in AH, but not used. if one is in use and it's been found, I doubt if it would keep searching.

This is always all total guess work until it's narrowed down. It's just part of process of elimination.
