We head to Germany for our next event. This FSO will allow the Allied CIC of each frame to choose if the side will fly 9th Air Force aircraft or 2nd Tactical Air Force aircraft, each having different strengths and weaknesses on the battlefield.
Since the successful Normandy invasion and subsequent push to liberate France, attention of the Allied forces has shifted in the latter months of 1944 to the border of Germany and beyond. One key natural barrier stands in their way to continue the invasion of Germany: The Rhine River. The 9th Air Force and 2nd Tactical Air Force both operate attack aircraft that are suitable for prepping the surrounding area for the inevitable Allied crossing of the Rhine.
This FSO aims to depict the efforts the Allies had to go through to prep the Rhine area for crossing, which consisted of countless missions that targeted key infrastructure elements such as railroads, bridges, and other various military targets.
