I spent a week cabling the postal rate commission building and noticed only one person doing any actual work.
The rest socialized with coffee cups in hand.
This was in 1984 so it’s likely gotten worse.

Any government building..

The job numbers manipulation caused by hiring duplicate useless government positions has stopped..compare one month to 12 above..

Oh I know.    I wired buildings in the early 80s all over DC.

I got back to cabling with in 1999 for AVS inc. on sullyfield circle in Chantilly very near the 1994 AW con.

My last cabling job was the Naval Conference center in the pentagon a few months before 9/11.

There is a huge amount of dead weight in washington.

I agree but I suspect we're likely not talking about the same dead weight.

Before recently, you really could not get fired from a government job by not performing any work.

That's changed and many are on the bubble because "the two bobs" from office space asked what they do at work.

I know that employees of the Government are looked at as some kind of vermin. But comsider for the moment that some 20 year old computer wiz kids (who know sweet F'ALL about your job and skillls) and are led by a very rich oddball that makes millions off the Government, are about to come in to your place of work and decide on your continued employment.

Sorry but at this point all positions should be needed if not critical at this point to justify it...

Good severance packages are being offered

Hoping all government costs are examined with a microscope including the USPS..

So, you're a fan of government status quo.  Got it.

Wow how strange for one to admit this...considering we have no clue who/what was running the show/asylum then...at least now all can see who the circus ringmaster is..

Wow how strange for one to admit this.... and I here I was mistakenly thinking that a Constitutional Republlic had no "Ringmaster/King/Emperor".

I'll go on blindly believing that Governtment exists to serve the people.
