Tbh, I'd take on a 109k in a spit 1. All it takes is one overshoot to connect with a 303 to give them a PW, then dodge and dodge until they run out of 30s, then just have to keep dodging until death by PW. 

With a spit 1, you can turn inside very sharp making connecting with a 30mm very difficult and the 109 would continuously have to overshoot as it wouldn't be able to turn with the spit1 if it was determined to get the kill.

For months, Rotbaron had been making claims of superior piloting skill, challenging capera to a duel. After repeated discussions and delays, the challenge was formally accepted. Capera, as agreed, selected the aircraft: Spitfire Mk I, and the duel was set at 5,000 feet over a designated area between two bases.

Rot showed up on the film viewer at 6.4 K diving for speed getting to over 400  at the merge (almost 100 mph faster than the Spit MK1).

Capera bailed, but I think he should have fought it out. Just think of the bragging rights if you had won! And if Rot was half decent flying a K4 you should have lost so no shame on your part.

Isn’t it a bit silly? Maybe, but that’s why we’re here, right? My post was both in fun and to make a point. Maybe.....you could see it for what's worth, and roll with it a little.

Your question is completely valid.

From the start, our duel was based on him challenging me and allowing me to choose the aircraft. When I saw that his name included "Baron," I assumed he had some connection to WWI aviation, just as I do, since I come from a WWI flight community. So, I chose a WWI aircraft. However, as I mentioned earlier in this post, he protested, claiming it was unfair when I picked WWI.

That disagreement was what delayed our duel. Today, I agreed to a WWII match and clearly laid out the terms: Spitfire 1, 5,000 ft, sector 7.10.1.

As per the film..... he "chose" to show up in the 109K-4

I have to say the result will not change the world but it is a question of good sportsmanship and gentlemanly behaviour and that is important 

Where is RotBaron ? 

All I know about Cap is he is very good at annoying allot of people in the MA but for some reason like Moths to a flame they keep coming back for more. He called me out once and I just wished him all the best. If it gets all heated I think we are all old and clever enough to stop playing if we want to and if we don't we are part of the game. There is AH the game and 200  mine is bigger than yours game. Play the second at your own risk. 

BTW mine is bigger and better than all or yours so I have nothing to prove 

By the way there are no mythical noobs put off by toxic BS on 200 or here. It is Standard 

Finally if we met in person we would all find we have so much in common in our love of WW2 history and Flight Simms we would get on famously.
