I have searched diligently to find posts in regards to this subject without success. Do they work well for AH, and if so, I would sincerely appreciate any make / model recommendations.

Stay clear of the HP G2.  Great headset when it’s working properly.  My first one came out of manufacturing with a malfunctioning mic.  After a very long, frustrating trouble shooting process, a great difficulty finding someone at HP tech support that cared, they sent a new replacement.  Then, it developed it own issue.  The previous HP customer support number is no longer.

Iracing is where I use VR so I offer feedback from it's forum.  I use TrackIR in AH.
WMR(Windows Mixed Reality)  will be removed when you get H2R W11 revision albeit you can go back a revision.    Avoid used VRs that used WMR.

My HP Reverb G2 Gen2 worked really well for the last few years but is showing its age as well as depends on WMR.

Oculus 3  get's a lot of attention from quality as well as lower cost compared to other VRs.  In Iracing which is hard on VR  it has the largest number of users now I think.  Quickly replacing HP Reverb G2 dominance in iracing.

Big price jump from Oculus 3 to the rest of the VR brands.

Pimax get's mixed reviews especially on quality and some software issues.  Kind of a crap shoot seems like.

BigScreen beyond Gen2 is getting a lot of interest but user numbers are small in the first version in iracing because of the small FoV..  If the price was not so high this would interest me because of OLED screens and very light weight.  75 FPS is a fall off from the 90 FPS of my current G2 @ 90 FPS.  Not sure if it interfaces with AH.  I would wait to see how this turns out over time.

My reverb G2 is still going strong. The only issue I've had was the original cable broke, but they quickly sent an improved replacement. That said, I would not recommend it today. It uses WMR, a Windows program that Microsoft no longer supports. I'm constantly worried the next update will be the one that bricks it.

I had a first gen oculus but I don't like that facebook login nonsense. Only reason I won't seriously consider another one.

I've been saving up for a Pimax. I haven't decided yet which one to get, I'm waiting for the super to ship so I can get some real life reviews. See if it's worth all that money.

They're also supposed to release an "E" version that has eye tracking. 

I'm waiting to see what the new "Index" (supposed to be later this year) is going to be before doing any upgrades.

So far I've had;
Rift (took some doing to get the sensors placed but was great afterward except for screendoor)
RiftS (tad better visuals than Rift. Tracking not quite as good)
Quest 3 (lot of fiddling to get old games to work. Otherwise still undecided)

Hadn't planned on getting the Quest 3, but Bestbuy messed up my points I'd been banking for a really long time and I had to use them really quickly or lose them.

USBP1969 - I've been an Oculus user since Beta 1 and currently using Oculus 1 & 2 at my home. No issues for me and my boys who use them, especially for Aces High. And the cost is a big factor here as well.

Just keep in mind you are essentially running dual screens using VR.  Make sure your PC is above way above minimal specs.  I have a recent PC build I did with lots of PC power and still cannot turn graphics up high.

Put a small fan on your desk pointing at you. It helps as it fools your brain into thinking you are moving. Also do short stints as you get started. 5 minutes the first time, 10 the next and so on.

Huh, that's an interesting idea. I always thought that it help because it kept your head/face cooler.

Trying to figure out what makes people sick. Does it toy with equilibrium?

I IMAGINE it must give the impression of separating the head from the body. Two different worlds.

I also think of the old school stereo-vision toy Viewmaster, changing of depth perception. The human eye doesn't actually see in full 3d, the brain does? So I looked into it.

VR can make you sick because of a conflict between the signals your eyes and inner ear send to your brain (equilibrium), leading to a mismatch in sensory cues, similar to motion sickness. This is often referred to as cybersickness.
Here's a more detailed explanation....

Sensory Conflict:
Your brain relies on visual and vestibular (inner ear) cues to understand your position and movement. In VR, your eyes might perceive movement (like a character running in the game), while your inner ear might not be registering that movement, or vice versa.

Cybersickness:
This mismatch can lead to a range of symptoms, including nausea, dizziness, headaches, eyestrain, disorientation, and fatigue, collectively known as cybersickness.
Factors that Contribute:

Field of View: A narrow field of view in VR can contribute to cybersickness.

Frame Rate: Low frame rates can also cause issues.
Latency: High latency (delay between input and output) can also contribute to cybersickness.
Individual Susceptibility: Some people are more prone to VR sickness than others.

Mitigation Strategies:

Short Bursts: Start with short VR sessions and gradually increase the time.

Frequent Breaks: Take regular breaks to rest your eyes and inner ear.
Focus on a Fixed Point: Try focusing on a fixed point in the virtual environment to help your brain reconcile the sensory input.
Ginger: Ginger is a natural remedy for motion sickness and can help alleviate VR sickness.
Anti-Motion Sickness Medications: Consider taking Dramamine or other anti-motion sickness medications.

There is some science to this theory and it appears to help.

There is also another complexity, the scene you are seeing is not 3D. It's a pair of flat 2D images rendered at a fixed focal distance. In a normal '3D' situation your eyes would be having to be continuously adjusting their focus - so another feedback/input your brain doesn't get.

My brother and I both use VR.  I never had a moments trouble with VR but it bothered him till it got use to VR.

There was one exception to the above.  Hitech made a change to the 17 pounder gun sight view awhile back to help those using VR to not being sick when using that gun.  I had no problem till he made the change.  After the change I could not use the 17 pounder anti tank gun.  I think he changed it back.

I've been doing VR for a while now, and every now and then you come across someone who just cannot handle it. Back in the late 90's I had a guy I worked with who was dead keen to try it, within a couple of minutes of him putting the headset on he nearly feel over and started to vomit. He had a half hour break and tried again... same thing.
