Great post! My wife, a retired RN with a masters in nursing, has us on a combination of KETO and Caveman diet.
In a nutshell, no WHITES (sugar, flour, rice) nothing out of a box or a bag (processed food) and the only bread we eat on rare occasion is her home.ade sour doh 😜

We eat two times a day.

Exactly same here. A wife and a GF were RNs. Same/similar diet. Its healthier.

That's pretty Good Ripsnort and Animal. Most nurses and doctors don't know the proper human diet. They still look at the Pyramid.

The prep is not as nasty as it sounds..

Clear liquid diet followed by mega laxative doses ... it's just water by then, alot of water but no pain with hemroid in my experience...

Best part is the nap one gets from  the propofol ... Best sleep ever..is why MJ had it administered until it killed him...

Go get one done if you're due or at risk...could be a life saver

Just back from my alien probe.  All went well and one polyp removed.  Go back in two weeks to discuss with the Dr.   A little rough at times but not as bad as I imagined.
If your on the fence about getting one, get off the fence on the ‘Do it’ side!

A book I'm liking.  I'm going to try it out:

The Blood Sugar Solution 10-Day Detox Diet: Activate Your Body's Natural Ability to Burn Fat and Lose Weight Fast, by Hyman.

Interesting claims by the author (who is a physician who has tried this on himself and lots of patients over the years), such as significant, measurable results even within 10 days (lower blood sugar, lower insulin, weight loss, lower blood pressure, and various other health improvements).

I can withstand a lot of things for just 10 days to try it out.

Fruits naturally contain sugars, they also contain fiber and other compounds that can help slow down the absorption of those sugars into the bloodstream, potentially preventing rapid spikes in blood sugar. Fruits are an important part of a balanced diet and can be beneficial for overall health, even for individuals managing diabetes or insulin resistance

Avoiding corn syrup fructose for your sweetening needs is a good start but it's hard to avoid.

My best advice is to never use any knife with serrations for spreading peanut butter..........unless you like the taste of sintered plastic.

No matter what you eat, you must increase your activity level.  Not saying sign up to a gym.  Just walk more.  Do yard work.  Park farther away instead of looking for a closer parking spot.  Lot's of simple ways to get active.  The more you do the more you want to do.

That always puzzled me.

It's got millions now jabbing themselves with gut shots to make them think they are full..

Now where are those home made cinnamon buns..

LOL! :rofl

I exercise quite a bit at the Wellness Center, Park, Archery range, gun range, and just keeping the homestead maintained. I do not view exercise as a weight loss tool. I think of it as a healing method and of course a fun thing to do.

My best recipe is my Wild-Orange, sweet potato cinnamon roll with pecan-caramel icing.

Exactly what they want.

In September 2022, I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, in a tonsil. Took 35 maximum does radiation treatments, and 5 maximum doses of Cisplatin chemo. Tumor was gone. Lost 78#. Went from October 5th to December 9th without eating an actual meal. And for new years, developed an infection in my mouth that took a month to diagnose and six weeks to eliminate. July of 2023, cancer in a lymph node in my neck, for my birthday in August (literally the day before), I had a modified radical neck dissection, and 22 lymph nodes removed. At Thanksgiving 2023, they found another cancerous lymph node. Pissed off the surgeon,so for Christmas (12/20) 2023, I had a radical bi-lateral neck dissection. Thirty-four lymph nodes removed. Damage to the nerves on the left side for tongue, vocal cords, and shoulder. Took both internal jugular veins, too. After that, I developed severe radiation induced fibrosis in my neck. Other than the fibrosis, a messed up voice, a minor speech impediment, and some lingering weakness working above my shoulders, I'm in decent shape. Had an exam by my ENT, he was happy, had my 6 month contrast CT, results in two weeks, and my 6 month full physical today. I get a DNA test for the cancer every 90 days, probably for life. I have to make Christmas 2026 to get declared in remission, and 2029 to be declared cured. Good news is that if it ain't back by now, odds are really good.

We're eating clean, lower carbs, very little processed food. Butter, no margarine, mostly olive oil, very little soda, unsweet black tea, green tea, black coffee, and water. Pay attention, ya beef don't taste like beef, ya pork don't taste like pork, and ya chicken don't taste like chicken. Next step is to work with local farms to buy food directly from them. The food system is garbage. We let a lot of bad stuff happen in this nation.
