best settings to see GVs?
« on: May 26, 2025, 12:22:56 PM »
Should I turn terrain detail up or down?  Does it even make a difference?  Are friendly GV icons visible while in flight?

My eyes are not nearly what they used to be, but it seems awfully hard to detect those critters from the air.

Three players that I know of could spot a GV no matter where they hide in one pass.  You will not get that information from them.

Normal players use a crossing pattern that changes direction over the area.   Be sure as well to look back as well when you make a pass.  Any hint of red is what you are looking for on each pass.  Too low though and you might get main gunned by a tank.

one other helpful tool is the "tab" key making target lock.  It puts a red vox around the closest target and can be help in spotting and tracking gvs, but the range is very short 1k...  it also works vs air targets and can be helpful seeing thru clouds to an extent.  In the MNM (SEA2) the tab key also enables the LCS - lead computing sight vs air targets, this aspect is disabled in the MA.

Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Tab works to track planes in thick clouds too..

Saw that watching someone's YouTube videos about a year ago and have used it since..

Unfortunately still well within the Wirbel kill zone, but that could help.  Thanks.
