Animl-AW, you have no idea what added those air and vehicles spawns have done to the fun factor. you ASSUME its gamey, a long time ago i wouldve agreed!

because of the close airspawns, you die, you're back in the fight in 2 seconds! you dying and killing so often you dont have time to think of anything else.

give it a try sometime! don't assume the unknown, critique the known!

I was referring to the MA part.

I think its great in some events. Air-spawns worked out very well in MotA.

Its almost amazing I’m more busy at home after retirement than before. Catching up on neglect after yrs of insane wk hrs.

I’ll get into MnM eventually. Its stupid I haven’t. Mondays are usually slower in the MA.

Right now, 6-8p is my video hobby. Trying to finish a BoB vid to get it off the table.

Keep pushing me

Damnnng im mad I missed this. Thought it was just tanks :frown:

Hoping I can make the next one.

Air spawns are great for certain events and certainly things like this. It keeps the flow of the fight going instead of creating lulls waiting on opponents to show up and wasting time flying to the target.

I dont think it would be good for the MA because it creates unnecessary advantages, really just shorter bases work much better for that, espcially when trying to defend from a back field and not having to fly 15 minutes from a back field to try to defend your other base from being taken over.

Leave the scoring and logs out of it. Makes it so much more fun to not have to worry about playing for scores and most kills and all that, relieves a good amount of pressure from the MA to just go in and have fun and not worry about having to fly a certain way to beef up the score, it reduces saltiness as well. A lot more fun just to go in and let loose.

so noted, good point!

to be honest, at that close a range, the base can be immediately taken back, so it makes for a very interesting fight. we had a base change hands 5 times in 10 minutes like that one night!

I am definitely pro air spawns for combat challenge. While it can create the dog pile effect, it still made the event much more thrilling to jump right into the action.

Just from a MA POV, it can get way too complex and if someone spawns right over you, well that can not necessarily be very fair. I like having to take off and strategize and defend from the ground up, but certain events definitely are more beneficial with air spawns for sure.

In the MA it could have a worsening effect.

You're a little more careful dying when you have to go take-off and get to the battle again. If they just have to re-spawn into action they dweebery will increase.
In Scenarios where you have one life, players are a lot more careful and the fights are more about ACM as to not lose that only life. I'm a better pilot in events than I am in the MA just doggin around.

The basic MA mentality is not the same as some event players mentality. The ones who never attend events tend to want to game-out in the MA, myself included at times. They are also missing out on playing the whole game more as a sim. Just a weird pattern I glazed at...it SEEMS, those who attend many events complain the least about the MA. Seriously, these MAs in sims are just a place to practice for events. But it seems to be viewed and projected as the core of the sim. The MA is not where it's at and I should eat my own words.

A lot of complaints about the MA, can be changed in events, such as Dot Dar. How we're spawned. An actual goal. The fact it's customizable expands the limits of the game. If all ya do is fly the MA, ya I can see how it can become mundane at times. It's rinse and repeat.

If the game promo focused more on the events, not as much the MA, I think it's a better sell. The fact that all the focus is based on our MA, which can be pretty dweeby <raises hand> is very misleading. >IMO<

I think there are some great concepts in events, always tweaking forever.

A pattern for me is, I think time scheduling could be more SOP. Maybe I missed it and they are. We basically have some kind of event 4-5 days per week. IMO, that target time should be based on Central Time, and either 6p or 7P as a standard. When there is consistency players can better adjust window of availability. If you eat dinner every night at 5p, your day becomes configured to meet that time for that purpose. Another point would be, make the event short enough so players still have time to wig out in the MA afterwards. MA starts slowing about 9p CT. I THINK (thoughts are like noodles against the wall) 6p CT is a good honey spot for USA players, over by 8p. Now we get both events and MA worlds rockin without taking from one for the other. In that instance, a player gets 4+ hrs of good game play, all at prime time. I don't play FSO because here it comes on at like 10p or 11p CT. Too late for my blood to get wound up. If there is an event every day at 6p, I eat dinner at 5p, jump into some event at 6p - in the MA by 8p-9 or 10p and it's a good night. That's $15 worth, anywhere

Just a thought, nothing more.

Yes, Animl, the special events are one of the most overlooked parts when people review aces high. Its a shame really. I too find them to be one of the most fascinating aspects to AH and even the entire genre of air simulation sims. No other game can compare or has them.

I think if we had more players utilize custom arenas and created a team death match type of room on a small map thats open 24/7, then perhaps the "FTP" would gain a lot more traction.  For what ever reason, AH just hadn't picked up from a custom server stand point.

Regarding timing. There should be a smaller "FSO" type event every Sunday at like 3-7est. That way it gives players another option over the MA, allows for Europeans to play, and allows for prime time action after. Its great for new players to just hop into some quick action. 3-7 time zone is stalling right now IMO, because certain maps just arent providing enough action zones worth rolling for 20-30 minutes a sortie. This limits mid day build up of #s where players stick around due to good fights.

Ya, I prolly don’t pick up on that because I could gave 1-1m points and never know it, I never look. I fly MA as if there are no points anyway. But I see your point also.

One really interesting change in last night tank fight was  the sudden changes in spawns.  Add a very dynamic flare to the battle.
