Free to Play, I would love to see this happen. Add a small group of planes and vehicles to a FTP setup in the MA. Granted these players are going to get hammered, but if they stick around long enough to see how deep this game really is I think you could get some turn over to subscriptions. The only downside would be players that cancel their subscriptions to fly the free stuff. Personally I really dont see that happening. Most of the players here have been paying the $15 a month for years, many who dont even fly. With that kind of loyalty I think your safe from that happening.

Just kicking people would be the way to go if they’re in the tower. People will fill ack guns for sure to avoid it though so some sort of fix for that but either way people find any way to take advantage of things.

"Kicking" players has never been a good idea. After all we are trying to get them IN the game not out.

Just a thought
The more people see high numbers in the MA, the more likely to login to play.

I wonder if kicking people instead of just not counting them after time would effect the number count that seems to draw some into play. Numbers breed numbers.

Example;
Lets say most people may not log in if under say 80. If it boots tower sitters who wait for their choice of action to happen, and it brings the count down to 70, would that not affect who actually goes in to play?

Probably a feeble example, but ya prolly get my point.

It's just a thought, some may have a different POV, but I dunno about the kicking stufff, for that reason.

The idea has nothing to do with kicking players out. What was suggested was to remove inactive players from the ENY calculations. Tower sitters would still be tower sitters, but after a certain time they would no longer be counted toward ENY, nobody gets kicked.

I do believe the idea was pitched above. But ok.

TBH, this whole eny-whinge is taking the wrong tack blaming afk players.  The amount of afk players is small and will not affect eny at the times its most needed.

The better solution, imho, is to revamp the eny and maybe obj values, particularly for GVs.

It won't stop a thing. You can be AFK in a jeep just as easy as a tower. Folks have been yelling about ENY since day 1. Surely players can find 1 or 2 EW or MW rides to enjoy during these times. Heck get in a bomber.  :salute

I think everyone is at least half right. There have been times when it shows 70-80 in the MA, but I could only justify maybe 40 active. But from my POV its usually leading up to prime-time 8p CT. I don’t play 24/7, but that is where I pick up on it. I don’t think its an issue in every hour.

Note prime-time for many players is about 7p, and it migrates across time zones. So when West coast logs in at 7p, its 10p ET, those players start logging to work the next day. If you are playing late on MT, while everyone else time zones hit 10p and you country has higher numbers and you’re rolling undefended bases, you’re gonna see ENY. Ya kinda earned it.

My point being, the chart is not a straight line across 24 hrs.

IMO, kicking = bad idea, bad byproduct in MA count.
Removing tower sitters after say 10 min from the ENY equation is a wonderful idea.

Will it solve everything ENY, prolly not, will it hurt anything, NOPE. There is no bad byproduct by implementing it. But it shows effort to compromise.

And thats what some should think about, compromise.

Players don’t seem to like it but ENY does serve a purpose, it just needs a tweak.

The numbers of ppl just logging in and then sitting in the tower any length of time..longer than a bathroom break, smoke or drink has to be extremely small..

I'd rather fix dar..

Maybe HT has data to look at to see if its worth doing. I don’t think it would hurt anything.
Ok lets say its a A or B choice only.
Would this setting have a more positive effect to players than Dot Dar? My guess, probably not.

I don’t have the most popular opinion, but,…

I look at Icon Dar as more game, Dot Dar as more sim.
I see the MA as more game, events as more sim.
I also see MA as where the new player starts. We keep thinking as vets over new.

I can go either way in the MA, deff dot dar in events.

If there is only a single choice, dot dar may bring more bang for the buck, with some players.

Of course I say this with no actual data to back either up. We may find the tower thing could actually alter things more than we think. Really, HT would know best. I think the only thing we’d hear is if he decided to do something. I don’t he’d actually make a move on dar, never know.

It would be fantastic to login and find icon dar was switched to dot dar!

A message on the splash screen about a trial or whatever...

It'd make the headlines!! Dancing in the streets!!

Same amount of peeps not fond of icon dar, is prolly close to the same number not fond of ENY.
Would be nice to run a poll on each. But, wild blind guess, doing both could charge up return rate and dispel some grudge opinions.

Besides maps, these two subjects seem to rank high on the list.

Would they actually happen? <shrug> Not sure he’s fond of big changes.

Ideas are like biz cards, if you pass out 100 and get one card call, you’re duin gud.

I don’t gave preference of either. Fir me its more about pleasing the masses. My opinion matters not. My only preference is no shut down. :)

No disrespect to the AKs—but let's be honest, they're notoriously known as one of the least strategically impactful squadrons in Aces High history. They put up a big red cloud, sure—but when the dust and smoke settle, it's rare to see them take a base or even make it back to land the sortie when flying as a group.

Now, don't get me wrong—AKs offer great wingmanship. Every single one of them is a pleasure to talk to. Nothing but respect on a personal level. But for the sheer number of AKs on the roster, all I ever seem to get in return... is high ENY.

Isn't that a damn shame?

If its a Monday.....we are running various squad missions and few are base takes.

The rest of the week is "Kill Red Guys"
