Does Hitech still read the BBS? I hope he does, Id love to get his take on a few thoughts.

Free to Play, I would love to see this happen. Add a small group of planes and vehicles to a FTP setup in the MA. Granted these players are going to get hammered, but if they stick around long enough to see how deep this game really is I think you could get some turn over to subscriptions. The only downside would be players that cancel their subscriptions to fly the free stuff. Personally I really dont see that happening. Most of the players here have been paying the $15 a month for years, many who dont even fly. With that kind of loyalty I think your safe from that happening.

Subscription cost, Only you (Hitech) can decide on this one. How close is the margin right now? Can a drop in price still keep a reasonable margin? What is a reasonable margin? You have to decide, are you running the game to make money for as long as you can, or are you running the game just for "old times" sake and giving us old men a toy to play with for as long as we can? Many other games are $5.99 or $9.99 if they do have a subscription, like many of the streaming services. That "under $10" doesnt seem to bother people. If dropping the price doesnt kill the margin, which ever margin your looking for.... it certainly wouldnt hurt dropping the price to attract new players.

1 time purchase price and perks are done with. Perk vehicles are purchasable DLC or the only subscription is a "premium" one that offers you all perk vehicles and i dont imagine a new guy wanting to pay more than 5-10$ a month for that. More so if ENY effects it. Really all I can imagine that may appeal to today's market but will HTC do it? +1 on the other things you mentioned...

Give the community the means of creating and testing vehicles and objectives in offline to have the possibility of being greenlit later to keep game dynamic. Or is it that proprietary?

ENY should be based on players in flight, not total.  Too many idle people.

The problem with that is as soon as a squad launches a mission ENY could jump big time. ENY should be based on ACTIVE players. If you sit in the tower past a certain limit, say 15 minutes, that player is removed from the ENY count. No need to boot players, just take them out of the ENY count until they return and become active again.

I know a guy that switched to another country once for ENY purposes, but he was made to feel like a pariah.

When ENY is high, time to resupply.

Join a squad ...or do it yourself, that thinks out of the box. P40s and Stukas mission to go shut a field down. For just one example.

B5N missions on a CV is another one. I can think of a dozen different things to do when ENY is high.

I stepped away from this game for a long time because the stale routine it had all become. I'm approaching the game different this time around. I'm going to play my game and have fun doing it. My whole goal is to show up at a field near you in the stupidest thing I can find. I never was impressed with perk stuff anyway. I'd rather die in a junk plane than a high dollar jet plane. Screw the ENY. It doesn't hold my game up much at all. I can count on one hand how many times I've flown a 262 or 163. Screw the score and the war.

One of my all time favorite players in this game was CorkyJr. He got killed constantly but had fun and was one of the best there was. Flew a G model IIRC. I want the attitude he had. Just not in a 38  :lol :salute

Thats me. Except I fly D9 or A5 these days. I die a lot and sorta don’t care, to a point. I fly through fields gun to shoot them and dar, so I want decent size lead, for others with a plan. I can be much better when I actually try, I just don’t put that much into it. I’m just having fun. I have no clue how many points I have.  I’m no longer a competitive player. Lets just blow stuff up and have fun. Uf things are lacking in direction I’ll step up to the plate, but I let others have fun leading and just follow them otherwise. I don’t miss the headache of trying to be #1.

I think most older players who return have the same attitude.

That's the intent, the more planes you have in the air the more it should impact ENY.

Understood, however what your trying to avoid is huge swings in ENY. My squad launches 10-20 guys sometime. Once we hit the air ENY jumps to 20 with your way of doing ENY, and when we land, ENY returns to zero. How is that going to work?

+1

Unfortunately its based off a countries population. The current model only factors actual numbers populated in the MA.

At least it's only inaccurate for 20 minutes rather than 12 hours

Thats exactly how it should work, if your squad logs on and launches 20 planes, the rest of the team should be impacted by ENY if the other teams dont have the same 20 guys to counter.

So far this has been one of the healthiest and productive conversations about ENY I have ever participated in. Way to go fellas  :salute

It is one thing to log on and intentionally pick the side to hoard others and then there is the mass log off (probably to watch cartoons) to spike ENY that will cause me to log off.

Usually when the hording side gets any sort of resistance, they immediately log off.

I think you missed the point Hggerty. He was not saying 20 players logged in, but 20 players launched a mission, they were already logged into the game.
