To explain why we sometimes fail taking a base then other squads is because we take challenges flying missions that we have set before squad night.  Those mission sometimes are not to take a base but like others have stated, to stir up a fight.  Other missions are to fly only japanese, german, russian, etcc. and are we flying early, mid or late war planes.  We just play together as a team and have fun.  Besides, our squad night on monday nights is only for an hour.
Nothing but full respect for the AK's.  Fun to fly with and against.   :salute

I flew with them a bit in FSO and must say of all the squads I flew with in FSO over the years, they seemed to have it together the best at the time that I flew with them.

There's an AK mission from way back on our squad night.  The CO would fly a C-47 with troops at high altitude.  Then drop said troops from stated high altitude.

The AK challenge?

Establish air cover, drop hangars, and take down the town for capture before the troops hit the ground.

For all you base takers, that perks your challenge vibe.  Contact AKGreyga or AKShrike to get some interest in a large-scale mission.  Sounds easy.  Execution takes solid teamwork.

Monday nights is squad night.
This chapter has ended?

We was doing that in AH1

Those missions were fun. Heck about every squad did them, but I don't know what's going on now. Maybe it's just me but the guys in my country don't seem to be into that. 1 or 2 bomber passes, get the ack and let out the troops. Heck a few whirbels and no eggs needed. The airfields get untouched for the most part. It's all about the sneak.
I don't care to play that way, but if I wanna be part of the "team" that's what ya gotta do I reckon. Most of the time I just think of a job I wanna do, like jabbo CVs, dar and VHs all night. I just do my own thing right now trying to find out who is in charge around here.  :salute

I'll probably try and post a mission in there one of these days, but doubt if any would join. Nobody likes Stukas  :huh

This is great! I remember one evening I was trying to defend a base in a Brewster along with a few others in planes and some tank dudes. Suddenly, like 15 Brewsters or so came through a gap in the mountains and absolute chaos ensued. I was subsequently shot down by AKGreyga while I was killing a 51 and the base was taken pretty quickly but damn if it wasn't fun. I even shot a couple guys using a field gun after not being able to get a plane.

I love this kinda stuff, a bunch of dudes having a good time....I'll bet the radio banter was a blast.  Keep at it, AK's!

you know what? it's been a while since we ran the ol' Honey Badger mission..  ;)
