I can simply see a post, and decide on my own, whether or not to participate, and if I choose not to, I can mind my own business, and not attempt to be a moderator.

Nonsense. The only ones having a decent convo are when it's one sided. As soon as someone from the other side jumps in RUSH and MEATLOAF fly through the doors and encourage decent on that person. yas whine if someone reports it, and whine if someone explains why they are constantly locked. They all could have reported it, yet we all choose not to.
