Just an Observation on Oct FSO
« on: October 04, 2025, 12:04:42 AM »
The Hour 2 matchup is a little one-sided in favor of the Axis.  B-25C vs. C.205.  Cannons vs. no tail gun.

If you want Allies to keep the B-25C, then Axis will need to drop down to C.202.  That way, the Mitchell's can have a chance against the horde.

If you want to keep the C.202, then Allied will need to keep the B-26 with formations to defend against the horde.

I did my protest of the situation by bombing to non-target towns.  We like to smash things.

I agree that a B-25C is incredibly vulnerable, but that's also where escorts come into play. I can't tell you how many sets of lone B-25s I saw coming in to a swarm of enemy fighters with absolutely no cover at all.

It's not all that different than when the Axis have to fly Ju-88s or Stukas as their attack plane... they stand no chance when intercepted. Thats why fighter escort is a crucial role.

With the being said however, there will be changes to Frame 2's aircraft. And thank you for pointing out the non-target damage, I was just working out scores.

No problem MDStampf93.  War told me this was your first design.  It was late when I made the post after FSO and I might have been a little emotional.

I do love smashing towns.  :devil

Keep up the good work.  :salute

i was under the impression that all of the strats inside that sector were valid targets for hour 2. but, im not sure thats reflected in the scores or not. the numbers did seem a little lopsided in hour 2, but i dont think that can be really helped. either way, the frame was a blast. i died a lot, but blew a lot of stuff up. and it was rather fast with action, something else i thoroughly enjoyed. well done!

There should have been 5 strats that were valid targets if I remember correctly off top of my head. I will take another look at scores tomorrow and see if I can get a more accurate tally without running it through ChatGPT

I have left the B26 available for phase 2 of frame 2, they will however be less needed in phase 2 than they were in Frame 1, see objectives or consult CO for details.

In Frame 3 the Axis will go on the offensive giving the Allies a Frame of defense only.
