Turn down points for Perk Planes
« on: November 08, 2025, 11:36:44 AM »
Something that has always bothered me in scoring. Why do 262s and Tempest  give players a ton of fighter points for landing kill? For example, in my G14, I can land a 5 kill sortie, let's say I hit 2 bombers and the rest are fighters. If im lucky ill get 1k points, but it may be closer to only 600-800. This I can never figure out. I rekon most fighter kills I get 100 points if I land.

So how is it, that tempest and 262s get like 300 points per fighter kill and 500+ for bombers? My G14 has 3 20mms and 2 50s and I can't even get close to what a 262 and tempest can do in points in a similar sortie.

So my wish, since it would seem players are hiding behind perked planes for fighter score. Can we reduce the points multiplier on these planes? They shouldn't get 2500 points a sortie while also flying the easiest planes in the game so they can get a good fighter rank. IMO, you should get more points for flying older war planes given they are much harder to land in with kills and would incentivize players to fly in older planes to beef up their points.

I would guess ENY plays a role into points earned, so when a Tempest and 262 are up their team is propably the underdog.  We get different perk points rewarded based on team size differential so I wouldn't be surprised if the points are the same way.  Unfortunately fighter rank goes to bomber intercepters with low numbers, trying to get fighter score as a dedicated dogfighter is nearly impossible now with the lack of targets and extra time spent not killing.  As you can see OldAngus got #1 last month on just 11 sorties, he only killed a single fighter.
I've never actually paid attention to how many points I get for kills, but it would be worth testing on autoswitch to see if you get more on a small team vs the horde team.

Just crunched some numbers from last month, OldAngus got an average of 182 per kill in the 262/163 combo killing 47 bombers and 1 fighter.  I received an average of 208 per kill while killing 94 targets in a big mix of 10-30 eny planes.

Oddly, I found a month where I did almost all P-40F sorties and only had an avg score of 159 per kill.

Plane ENY and perk modifiers have no impact on score points. Note that the score points are essentially 'damage points', despite being called kill points. The kill itself gives you only 1 point, the rest is from damage inflicted on the enemy. Killing a lot of bombers can give you more kill points for that very reason.

I never really test if weapon type / 'size' has an impact on the amount of points, like it has for object damage points (attack & bomber & vehicle modes).

I wonder why I would have more points per kill over someone who had nearly 100% of his kills on bombers.  Maybe his 30mm are somehow taking away from the points over the 50 cal/20mm I was using.
