I still think a timer for those in the tower (10-15 minutes) and then pull them out of the ENY calculations. Hitech liked the idea,, just getting him to coad it up might be the issue at this point.

Bish ENY was at 25 for a good part of the night (Thursday) and the Puppies were having squad night. ENY would jump as we mustered in the tower for the mission, but even after we launched it was still very high.

I was thinking as many on our radio were complaining about the ENY, if we where on the other side with a crap ton of players hitting us, would they still be complaining, but about being ganged? Take ENY away, or soften it up and those getting hit with it may be happy, but when the tide turns and the other team has the soft hit of ENY and are slamming you with a horde, are you thinking its still a good idea?

The biggest issue with ENY..... and has always been, is the players not being comfortable using crappy planes to fight. The last missions of the night for the Puppies was to sink a battleship group. With the ENY we were stuck with crappy planes with crappy bomb loads. Some guys hit it 3 or 4 times and dying each time. They finally got it but I know a number of guys logged off because they did want to bother with the ENY.

I think ENY can be cleaned up. I wish Hitech would go through and re-evaluate the ENY of each plane as I think things have changed through the years. I dont think it can be "fixed" as your never going to make everyone happy, but if it is cleaned up and the tower sitters can be removed from the ENY count it might be enough to calm the player base.

I have never paid attention to ENY as I will fly usually midwar..

Nor who is flying and who is not ... just looking for a few good red planes to tangle with...the rest of it is just noise imo..

All true, I watched.

But ya dod have 42 online when other countries had 23-25. Nits dropped to 18.
Ya can’t have one squad massive horde destroy the entire map. IMO.

Those full country hordes are destructive to the game itself.
Exactly why ENY is needed.

Not only that but rook and bish full country horde put everything on one base, which slows map win. Why
Maps are lasting longer. Many times 30+ vs 7. That is a total waste of game play. That could have been 3 other battles. So I ignore the full country horde complaints, they are part of the very problem, it makes players log off and things get even worse. When its full country gangbang its not even worth playing the game, many don’t. They come in see a retarded 2 full country gangbang and just log back off. I personally log off. Nits don’t have anything to throw at that. Sad these hirde make it even worse by attacking the already weak. Its bully.

So its hard to listen to one destructive force complaining about not able to be worse. Thats not my point <shrug>

Point is, non-flying players affecting ENY.

<shrug>

Definitely should boot any player sitting in the tower after an hour.

Might want to seriously consider scaling back to two teams. At least ENY would mean something at that point. There’s a near constant double team lately which is getting tiresome. 20(one team) v 40(two teams) seems pretty regular. Attackers tend to sync up after base captures which consolidates offense and scatters defense. Flying into a full darbar is bad enough with the radar settings. Running into a wall of 262s and Tempests while you do it is extremely discouraging for the ganged team. Conversely it’s also not fun to be one of six trying to score on the single red icon in the area.

Well its not meant as a list for everything “wrong”. One item at a time. We’ll be lucky to get one change.

The other subjects have been covered. Not a big rally for some of them. So far no one rallies against an ENY change. The others may be less likely for HT to get behind.

Two countries would be the end of this game for good.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

I think that is a majority opinion. 35 yr old debate, same outcome.

Tonight 42 Bish, and for a period of time only 23 in flight. They got hit with a 17 ENY.
The ENY was right for the total count, but with only 23 in flight they kinda got burned for that period of time,...less planes in the air, and not top shelf AC. When it's low 20s across the board in all countries in flight,.. they actually got the short straw.

You took that 23 number as people were in tower for a mission, I mentioned you should check again right after you posted that number on 200 and it was 33 because the Mission just upped.  While the sentiment that a team shouldn't be punished for tower sittings, that wasn't the case last night, bish had an appropriate number of players for ENY, unfortunately their enemies had more players combined and were being very aggressive and efficient in their double team base takes.

Last night was another example of a bish horde gathering.  It time to put together a horde so if a time limit is set for tower players, then it should be no less than 30 minutes.

Last night was another example of a bish horde gathering.  It time to put together a horde so if a time limit is set for tower players, then it should be no less than 30 minutes.

When I logged in at 730 est, Rooks and Knights where hitting the Bish on two fronts. Bish had about even if just a bit more in numbers as the other two teams. Puppies squad night starts after 8PM, so the numbers started climbing then. Our squad alone sometimes makes up half the team.

The Rooks had taken 4 bases from the Bish in the south and the Knight were trying to clear the Bish off an island in the NE. Puppies started running missions first to stop a couple of base takes in the south and then we started pushing back. With an ENY of 12 that was climbing each time we looked it was harder and harder to push back..... which is the point of ENY by the way.....That stopped us from splitting our force to work both fronts. But as as a group that works together well we did ok and cleared the Rooks from that island in the south. At first there was defense with a few Temps and Jugs, but once they they switched to GVs it was much easier.

Once we got the island back in the south the Knight were trying to more on to another island in the NE so the Puppies switched fronts to stop them and push them back. There was a Battleship group and I couldnt tell you how many trips it took to kill that thing carrying an ENY of 25.

It seems to me most times our squad is going the team we are hitting disappears. They dont even seem to start a fight on the other front. Maybe they are the tower sitters. I hope Hitech does add in the tower sitters timer. Set it short, say 10 minutes, if the sitter hasnt left the tower take him out of the ENY calculations. He can sit for hours or days, but at least a team wont be penalized for the sitters.

And THAT is what we’re talking about.

It doesn’t even affect me much, since we always have lower counts.
OTOH, if your side has 42 flying and other countries are 20-30, then ENY will give the other two a chance, enough to stay in the game, which also helps keep numbers up.

The problem with a big sqd these days is, when you’re all logged in you face ENY.

If half are on the bench, those flying get burned. Most know what I mean.

I think 10-15 tower time-out us the cleanest approach over in-flight concept.

I think it will solve quite a bit of ENY issues, more accurate.
