Spitfire Crash
« on: April 14, 2000, 01:05:00 PM »
A two Seater Spitfire  MKIX crashed in England last Saturday.  Both pilots were killed.  Apparently the aircraft clipped a tree on it's final landing approach.

Believe the aircraft was a write-off!

But a greater tragdy is the loss of life!

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Any link for this? I can't find *any* reference to a Spitfire crash in a dozen web searches ... thx

(I've arranged a flight, date could be anytime, for my father back in the UK for his 80th b'day in the 2-seat 'Grace' Spitfire, so I'm kinda interested - even more than usual).
