NooB Questions:
« on: April 10, 2001, 02:56:00 PM »
Just a few things on my list that I have yet to answer with "search" (apologies if these questions have been asked to death):

Drunks - what proximity to the map room do they need to be released from a M3 or goon on the ground?

Torpedos - what is the running time (range); max speed and alt for a drop?

Skins - are there plans to allow custom art for the aircraft/vehicles/boats?

I don't know if it has changed in the past couple of months, but drunks will run quite a distance.  Twice I have been in a goon and struck the ground forcing a ditch.  Both times, at a distance I can only estimate to be about 1.5K, I let the drunks out and they ran to the map room.  I sat there and waited for about 4-5 min for capture.

Note that this was a VH base both times.  I have heard that if drunks don't have a clear path to the maproom they won't make it, or something.

Paras - I'd seen them stuck just outside the perimeter of the field (they were just south of a runway at the time I saw this happen).  Others online at that time indicated they have to be released within VH distance of the field, but I've never tested this.

Torps - Try under 200 kts, and under 200 alt.

Skins - It's been mentioned in other posts, but I don't recall if anyone from HTC spoke about it.

Cheers

That pretty well covers it.  I was not clear if I had to land and taxi near the map room (or if just being "on base" would do).

Thanks again...
