Pablum aside, Sage, I find it hard to believe a Fin would be so contemptuous towards one being slightly chauvinistic. After all, Finnish WWII statistics against the Russians is nothing if not impressive.

Slavs in general and Russians in particular tend to be boastful and optimistic if not utterly dishonest in their self assesment. This is compounded if they are stuck with a historic inferiority complex like the Russians and the Serbs. Its not surprising they overclaimed greatly and this also applies to their appraisals of weapons systems, theirs is always best.

No Oldman, he's right. We Slavs are just boastfull SOBs. Why just this morning I exagerated 5 times, lied 7 and deceived 9 people. It's genetic

Maybe we can use cranology to explain it. Or maybe our humors are unbalanced. I'm sure there's a scientician who can explain this.
