Webster's defines game as any specific amusement or sport involving competition under specific rules.  Most games I have played include rules of conduct.  If people talked the way I have seem them comment online (profanity etc) in a tennis match they would be asked to leave.  Most coaches I have been around don't like profanity used among their players because it's makes people feel 'less than'.  People can't get into the spirit of the game ,have enjoyment and a chance of winning if players feel 'less than'.  I share some of the frustration that Nuttz and some of the other players here have felt when the profanity and innuendo stuff flies across the buffer.  Some would ignore it completely but that does not really cure the problem.  Words have power.  The power to help and make better or the power to sicken or demean or degrade.  I cannot tell anybody what to do-but the squelch treats the symtom not the main problem.  Anyone at AH remember the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still".  You could not bs Gort(the authority) and get away with it.

Loser,

The type of language you seem to find acceptable in those "sports" (as they are now being played) add nothing to the game or the image of the players. It is simply demeaning and takes away any respect they could have earned.

I don't think much of "professional players" who can't concentrate on their game without the necessity of fighting and or profanity. It gives them all the "glory" the WWF has earned.

This game is still marketed to and for all ages including children. So called "adult" language like pornography is not appropriate here.

"Klaatu Barada Nikto!"

LOL!

C'mon.. it's expected that idjits, donutwoods, twits, dweebs and pencilnecks will sign up fer the two week trial.. and they do tout 'no credit card required'..

..and just cause I like to sit back in a blue haze and get blown outta the sky by a better pilot don't mean the list of critters above is gonna be charmed by the same circumstances. If the twit makes noises yah don't like; squelch 'em, or duel 'em or tell 'em to piss off. It's the dolts who do this stuff on ch 1 that sould be flogged thru the fleet.

Yah gotta smile tho; when yah tick one of these 'legends in their own minds' off and get 'em twisted up in ben-gay knots and brimming with enthuisam and enjoyment of the game to the point they begin to spew the drivel that was tossed in Kieren's direction; well... yah done something right.

One parting thought tho.. the pious amongst us would no doubt be mortally offended by the hideous remarks the offal brained marroon made to Kieren, and he would be within his rights to howl and stamp and scream in HTC's general direction regarding the preverts choice of words and context whilst waving the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the user agreement and the cleaning bill for his jock.

As for me... I suggest we revisit the best part of this thread: "Klaatu Barada Nikto!"[/i]
