Tis, the middle of summer and was very hot, i got a bit sunburned
Look at the colour of the grass

And Ruab, the bulls-eye is to help LW pilots with their aiming cause they need it   I also believe its something to do with NZ airforce   Some of them have a red kiwi in the middle rather than a dot - look on the vampire.

Thanks for the pics!  The Vampire is a neat plane.  I got to see one in the hanger when I was in Florida.  Completely restored!

Wow, nice pics.

I've FLOWN the Vampire.  Fella was impressed with the Civil Air Patrol C172 I had on display there and wanted to offer me a flight in the Vampire.  Sure!

(Note to self, CHECK these people's logbooks before you say YES)

Hot day, sluggish performance....he tried to yank the gear up too fast, he dragged the wingtips/belly down the runway and managed to get us in the air.  Too late for me, I'd yanked the ejection handles and was horrified to find myself still sitting there with two handles in my hands.

"Oh, those dont work" he calmly tells me.....

The rest is a sad, silly and well documented tale.  Not only by me but by the 12 FAA Inspectors that witnessed the whole thing! hehe

Soooo...if a gazillionaire offers you a ride in something FAST....make sure they've got mmore than 10 hours in the damn thing!
