humble I think I know who you are talking about.......
you can shoot the crap out of umm and get no visible damage but a few pings and blam your in the tower.
I just chalk it up to connection or lag and usually move to a field where I wont have to face umm.
Haven't watched the film but it sounds similar to a time when my squaddie AG and I were engaged by a temp.
We were in 109g6s 30mm only and werked the dude to the deck. He was overly agressive and overshot a few times and and finally I landed 2 30 mm hits. 1 hit just behind the cockpit but the other took the wing off at the root.
On my fe he actually rolled back in the opposite direction and extended and came around on AG but overshot again. I was able to get on his 6 and unloaded. He ate atleast 5 more 30mm (i fire cannon and mgs seoerate) but just flew level and began to extend.
Now I am screaming on rw. AG cant believe it either well he flies off to about 4k the just vanishes. No explosion nothing just gone.
No kill msg pops up so I am like wtf was that. I land and am on rearm pad and then a kill msg pops up. I check the roster to pm the guy about his connection but hes not online.
I figured his connection was so bad that he discoed. I always wondered what it was he saw on his fe.
The funny thing about it is just the sortie before AG and I decided 30mm only because with 20's we were shooting blanks.
So it must of been a combination of overall lag on the server, my rubber bullets and that guys connection.
I dunno what you guys saw but wierd stuff has happened.
Ever been cruising at alt and just blow up? no kill recorded no vis on any plane round?
