HBlair & All: How to make films ?
« on: January 30, 2002, 10:48:27 PM »
Well I already did one in mpg format but with music 5min film was 38megs :D
I'm using Radeon ViVo to record ahf-files to vid.recorder and again back to computer to be encoded to mpg. AFAIR HBlair was using RealMedia format in his films and my guess is it would make smaller files ? Any tips what proggies to use etc ? Would be neat to put up a film from AH with Ozzy singing "Crazy Train" in background

Get a Divx encoder, that can reduce the file size drastically

The problem with DivX is not everyone has the codec.

Get Realproducer from the RealPlayer site. It's free.

Either convert the mpg to avi or remake the film as an avi.

Then Realproducer will convert it.

I was the one that showed HB how to do it all, so trust me, I've been thru the procedure a few times and highly recommend using real format, not for it's quality so much as for the size of files it produces.

I also use a program called Fast Movie Processor, version 1.41 and it can be setup to use whatever codecs are installed on your system. I like many of it's features as well, such as watermarking, gamma adjust, hue adust and many more.

You could also use Fast Movie Processor to convert the mpg to avi for use with realproducer.

Try one of these two links to get Fast Movie Processor;

Take a US 5$ bill, hold it front side up to the light, see the faint pic of Abe on the right side?

That's a watermark.

In this case the program allows you to take an image (such as your squad logo) and faintly imprint it into say the corner of the movie. I used our squad logo in one movie I made. I took a jpeg gave it a transparent backdrop, and imbossed it. It looked pretty cool as the tiny ASSASSIN chick with a gun slightly visible in the corner.

Call it PR I guess :D

One film I made used Guns & Roses "Night Train"

Another was "Welcome to the Jungle"

My favorite film I made used Judas Priest's "You got another think comin' "

HB's done a great job making movies, his tribute to Sniper was excellent.

And his one using KRYPONITE was also very good making him a true Steven Speilberg look alike.

Or would that be more like Cappola? As in Apocolapse Now!

I still make one occassionally, but kinda got burned out on em cuz' of all the work involved.
Of course finding a free HOST SITE that doesn't mind MEGS of file isn't easy either.

(edited out some glaring typos, still on 1st cup o coffee this A.M.)

Heh your "free" is too much for me (200$) so guess I'll stay in DivX and WMV formats :)

Thanks for the tips !
