What were the Finns up to today? (BIG PICTURES)
« on: April 16, 2001, 02:44:00 PM »
What is Grendel's nose doing in the left side? Whats this Aces High squadron CO listening to? What is Kossu looking at? What is this WW2 fighter ace telling?

Why are we looking at wrecked Soviet LaGG-3 fighter?

Why do we care for these German flying boots?

Why Netfly looks at the camera? Why PJK has his mouth open?

Why is this Fiat G.50 fighter pilot laughing?  And this Hawk jet reconnaissance squadron flight commander, Timo/Moosefly, lookign so awed?

And what the hell is this one?

Much more on this bat channel. Soon.

Nice!

Picture one, in the background, DeHaviland Vampire??  Me thinks so, I am almost sure by the odd, rectangular cockpit...I've flown one of those!  Tricky, but fun!

It surely was was of the best Easter mondays   Mr Pokela has flown Bf109's in the real Lentolaivue 34 (as well as Brewsters in LeLv24 earlier). Great stories indeed

BlauK...reuz

(CO of Lentolaivue 34, in the 1st picture)... Camo is the CO of our AH flight though

 http://www.compart.fi/icebreakers/WW2History-PokelaEnglish.html

This gentleman gave us a grand lecture about his squadron's activies during the war. He was a flight commander in HLeLv 34 and even had the Finnish aces of Aces, Illu Juutilainen, in his group of pilots.

I got most of the lecture to tape, I'll check tomorrow if the sound quality is usable for writing it up....
